Concerts: Our Easter Festival is moving to the historic and picturesque village of Wickham in 2012, two miles north of Fareham. For the first time we’ll have two stages running throughout the day and evening – a main stage in the 400-capacity main hall at the Wickham Community Centre and a second acoustic stage in the 120-capacity upstairs bar and function room at the Community Centre.
Workshops: There will be a full range of music, song and dance workshops every day throughout the Festival weekend. Workshops will be held in the Wickham Community Centre. Admission to workshops is free to Festival season ticket holders.
Dance Displays: There will be dance displays at various venues in Wickham throughout the Festival weekend. Dance sides wishing to appear at the Festival should contact Marion Luscombe, marion.luscombe@hotmail.com
Craft Fayre: There will be a Craft Fayre and Musical Instruments Fayre all weekend in the Wickham Community Centre. Admission to the Craft Fayre is free all weekend. Any traders wishing to apply for a stall at the Craft Fayre should email eastfest@talk21.com
Sessions: Singers and musicians are welcome to join in informal sessions in the Wickham Community Centre and the pubs and wine bars in Wickham all weekend and (late night) in the Lysses House Hotel bar and lounge at Fareham all weekend. A late bar and late food will be available every night at the Lysses House Hotel.
‘Meet the Artists’: As well as all the main concerts on two stages within the Wickham Community Centre there will be informal ‘Meet the Artists’ concerts each teatime with a range of new unsigned artists plus special guest appearances by established stars. Admission is free to Festival season ticket holders.
Late Night Concerts: There will be a Late Night Festival Club with extra concerts, late bar and bands every night at the Wickham Community Centre plus informal late-night sessions at the Lysses House Hotel in Fareham. Admission to all late night sessions is free to Festival season ticket holders but please note bar service may be restricted after midnight in accordance with licensing rules.
There will be a good selection of food and drink including a great choice of real ales at our main venue. Wickham is also blessed with some excellent village pubs, wine bars, restaurants, shops and bistros, all within easy walking distance of our main venue. There are also some lovely village and riverside walks around Wickham plus the historic Chesapeake Mill and Water Gardens that are well worth a visit.
More information on all the workshops, concerts, sessions and dance displays will appear in the Festival programme and on this website during coming weeks. For further information prior to the Festival please email eastfest@talk21.com
